Efterlängtad trailer och poster till "The Ides of March"

Idag har vi äntligen fått den första trailern till George Clooneys nästa filmprojekt som regissör, det politiska dramat The Ides of March. Clooney har med mästerverken Confessions of a Dangerous Mind och Good Night and Good Luck visat att han är en mycket skicklig regissör, och därför ser jag fram emot allt han tar sig an, vad det än är.

Synopsis:

"During the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, an up-and-coming campaign press secretary finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s shot at the presidency."

Efter att ha läst mängder om filmen och nu även ha sett trailern tror jag att detta kommer bli fullkomlig jackpot för mig. Clooney har samlat ihop en bunt med skådisar av absolut världsklass (Gosling, Hoffman, Wright, Giamatti, Wood) och placerat dem i en film med politiskt tema (ett av mina största intressen), det kan knappast bli bättre.

TIFF 2011: MÄNGDER av nya bilder

Tack vare kommande Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) har det idag släppts mängder av nya bilder från kommande filmprojekt som jag ständigt håller ögonen på. Nedan följer bilder från hela tretton spännande filmer, tillsammans med en kort synopsis till varje.

David Cronenbergs A Dangerous Method (bilden ovan):

"On the eve of World War I, Zurich and Vienna are the setting for a dark tale of sexual and intellectual discovery. Drawn from true-life events, A Dangerous Method takes a glimpse into the turbulent relationships between fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung, his mentor Sigmund Freud and Sabina Spielrein, the troubled but beautiful young woman who comes between them. Into the mix comes Otto Gross, a debauched patient who is determined to push the boundaries. Rodrigo Garcias Albert Nobbs:

Todd Solondz Dark Horse:

"A thirtysomething guy with arrested development (Justin Bartha) falls for a thirtysomething girl with arrested development (Selma Blair), but moving out of his junior high school bedroom proves too much and tragedy ensues."

Ralph Fiennes Coriolanus:

"Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes), a hero of Rome, is a great soldier but despises the people. His extreme views ignite a mass riot and he is banished from Rome. Coriolanus allies with a sworn enemy (Gerard Butler) to take his revenge on the city."

Lars von Triers Melancholia:

"In this beautiful movie about the end of the world, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and brother-in-law John (Kiefer Sutherland). Despite Claire‟s best efforts the wedding is a fiasco, with family tensions mounting and relationships fraying. Meanwhile, a planet called Melancholia is heading directly towards Earth… Melancholia is a psychological disaster film from director Lars von Trier."

Oren Movermans Rampart:

Terence Davies The Deep Blue Sea:

"Hester Collyer (Academy Award-winner Rachel Weisz) leads a privileged life in 1950s London as the beautiful wife of high court judge Sir William Collyer (Simon Russell Beale). To the shock of those around her, she walks out on her marriage to move in with young ex-RAF pilot, Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston), with whom she has fallen passionately in love."

George Clooneys The Ides of March:

Luc Bessons The Lady:

Francis Ford Coppolas Twixt:

"A writer with a career in decline arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. Stars Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Elle Fanning and Ben Chaplin."

Lasse Hallströms Salmon Fishing in Yemen:

"Stuffy government fisheries scientist Fred is asked by a fishing-obsessed Arab Sheik to do the seemingly impossible – introduce British salmon to the wadis of the Yemen. Despite considerable trepidation, Fred is finally won over by the charismatic Sheik, who reveals that fishing brings him closer to God, and he hopes it will have the same effect on his countrymen. Fred also begins to fall for the Sheik’s beautiful legal representative Harriet; and so he rises to the Sheik’s eccentric challenge, casting off his English reserve on a transformative journey of self discovery and late blooming love. Stars Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt."

Steve McQueens Shame:

"Brandon is a thirty-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life. After his wayward younger sister moves into his apartment, Brandon‟s world spirals out of control. From director Steve McQueen (Hunger), Shame is a compelling and timely examination of the nature of need, how we live our lives and the experiences that shape us. Stars Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, James Badge Dale and Nicole Beharie."

Fernando Meirelles 360:

"Inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s classic La Ronde, in 360, director Fernando Meirelles and screenwriter Peter Morgan combine a modern and dynamic roundelay of original stories into one, linking characters: from different cities and countries in a vivid, suspenseful and deeply moving tale of love in the 21st century. Starting in Vienna, the film beautifully weaves through Paris, London, Bratislava, Rio, Denver and Phoenix into a single, mesmerizing narrative. Stars Jude Law, Anthony Hopkins, Rachel Weisz and Ben Foster."

Colliders intervju med Nicolas Winding Refn

Den danska regissören Nicolas Winding Refn har många intressanta filmer på sin meritlista. Bland annat har han regisserat Pusher-trilogin, Bronson, Valhalla Rising och den kommande filmen Drive. På årets filmfestival i Cannes fick han priset för bästa regissör för sitt arbete med just den filmen.

Drive, med Ryan Gosling i huvudrollen, presenterades på årets ComicCon och då tog Steve Weintraub på Collider.com chansen att intervjua den udda och spännande regissören. Utöver Drive-snack pratas det om kontroll, kommande projekt och en hel del annat i denna 12 minuter långa videointervju.

En recension av Drive kommer efter premiären den 16:e september.

Synopsis:

"A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong."

Smått och gott från ComicCon 2011 #4

ComicCon är nu slut för det här året, och därför blir detta min sista ComicCon-special på ett bra tag. Sista dagen bjöd på lite tunnare mängd material än tidigare, men det finns en del ändå.

Bland annat fortsatte Marvel att släppa sina teckande The Avengers-posters som jag även skrev lite om i #1. I de nya får vi se Chris Hemsworth som Thor, Samuel L. Jackson som Nick Fury och Mark Ruffalo som The Hulk.

Vi fick också under gårdagen en sista trailer till den Rupert Wyatts kommande Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Detta är helt klart den bästa trailern hittills tycker jag, även om jag inte är helt övertygad än. Tragiskt nog är CGIn inte fläckfri trots att det är WETA som ligger bakom.

Nedan kan du också se en video (från lördag om jag inte minns fel) där Ridley Scott och Noomi Rapace pratar om deras kommande Prometheus via videolänk från Island där de just nu spelar in.

Sist men inte minst har vi en videoblogg från Firstshowing.net där Brandon Tenney och Ethan Anderton diskuterar det material de fick se från The Amazing Spider-Man. Bland annat fick de se Rhys Ifans som huvudskurken The Lizard, något som vi vanliga dödliga inte fick se i trailern som släpptes.

Smått och gott från ComicCon 2011 #3

Då var det dags för den tredje upplagan av "Smått och gott från ComicCon 2011" och precis som i de föregående två finns det en hel del nytt att gotta sig i.

Dels har vi fått fyra nya promobilder från kommande Snow White and the Huntsman med Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron och Sam Claflin.

Utöver dessa bilder har också en hel massa trailers landat, en del är från ComicCon och en del har släppts tidigare, men har ändå med ComicCon att göra på olika sätt. Nedan kan du se material från Batman: Year One, Frank Millers nya serietidning Holy Terror, Andrew Niccols In Time, den sjätte säsongen av Dexter och den andra säsongen av The Walking Dead.

Sist men inte minst har vi en fantastiskt fin poster till Jon Favreaus Cowboys & Aliens, samt en videoblogg från Firstshowing.net där Ethan Anderton och Brandon Lee Tenney diskuterar The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

Smått och gott från ComicCon 2011 #2

Nu är det dags för nästa ComicCon-inlägg, och även idag finns det en hel del intressant att bjuda på.

Bland annat har vi fått fyra tecknade posters till Joss Whedons kommande The Avengers-film, en film där en hel del av de Marvelhjältar vi sett på film kommer att finnas med. Dessa första fyra posters innehåller Robert Downey Jr. som Iron Man, Jeremy Renner som Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson som Black Widow och Chris Evans som Captain America.

Collider.com gjorde en mycket bra intervju med danske regissören Nicolas Winding Refn som belönades med priset för bästa regissör på årets filmfestival i Cannes för sitt arbete med filmen Drive. HÄR kan du läsa intervjun.

Vi fick under gårdagen även vår första trailer till Steven Soderberghs andra film som han har på gång just nu (även Contagion vars trailer jag har lagt upp tidigare dyker upp inom en snar framtid), actionthrillern Haywire med MMA-fightern Gina Carano i huvudrollen. Även Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas m.fl. dyker upp i mindre roller. Trailern kan ses nedan.

När Steven Spielberg och Peter Jackson dök upp på ComicCon för att diskutera sin film The Adventures of Tintin (Spielberg regisserar, Jackson producerar) fick vi också en ny bild från filmen med Tintin och Captain Haddock.

Även den underbara regissören/producenten Guillermo del Toro var på plats dels för att diskutera sin kommande film Pacific Rim, men också i en speciell "visionär-panel" tillsammans med Jon Favreau. Precis som alltid hade del Toro en hel del roliga och tänkvärda citat att dela med sig av. De bästa har jag lagt till nedan.

Om arbetet med Pacific Rim: "It’s the most fun I’ve had in a Hollywood movie. Ever. It should be almost illegal. We are enjoying it so much. We are designing monsters all day long. Gigantic fucking monsters all day long."

"I’m really a freak every place I go. I don’t quite fit in the independent scene. I don’t quite fit in the art scene. I don’t fit in the Hollywood scene. I’m a weird, strange, fat motherfucker and I plan to stay that way."

Smått och gott från ComicCon 2011 #1

Nu har återigen nördarnas paradis rullat igång, nämligen Comic Con-mässan i San Diego. Under fyra dagar kommer filmbolag, spelutvecklare, bokförlag osv. till San Diego för att visa upp sina senaste alster. Detta leder till att dessa fyra dagar alltid har en massa underbara posters, trailers och bilder att bjuda på. För oss som är filmintresserade och allmänna nördar är detta rena himmelriket. Nedan kommer en liten sammanfattning av vad som visades upp under gårdagen.

Först och främst har jag lite posters och bilder att bjuda på. Nedan kan du se nya posters till Bennett Millers Moneyball, Andrew Niccols In Time, James McTeigues The Raven och Steven Soderberghs Haywire. Vi har även fått den första bilden från Ridley Scotts kommande Prometheus.

Vi har också fått en första Red Band-trailer från Nicolas Winding Refns Drive med Ryan Gosling i huvudrollen, en film som jag skrivit lite mer om här. Trailern är minst sagt helt fantastisk, och jag är så fruktansvärt pepp på att få se den i september.
